SELMA LAURA KÖRAN

Selma Laura Köran is an artist of personified chaos, sculpting, claying, stop-animating, and hacking her way through digital and mythological debris. With Turkish-German roots and a studio in Berlin, she works as a self-declared dilettantish archaeologist, excavating collective memory, internet culture, and fictional ruins to rewrite dominant power narratives through feminist worldbuilding and glitch-driven counter-myths.

Köran’s works unfold as game-based worlds and sculptural interventions that expose the choreography of patriarchal power through play. Rather than illustrating resistance, she constructs systems in which dominance becomes glitchy, overacted, and structurally unstable.

Köran’s practice is not about retelling stories. It is about hijacking the script, infecting it with symbols, emotion, and contradiction until something new takes form.
